Giving Back
I am so proud to sit on the Board of Directors of this amazing organization! Food For Thought serves thousands of Sonoma County residents living with HIV, Covid-19, and other serious medical conditions. Our mission is all about healing with food and love and the idea that Food is Medicine. Many of our clients receive delivery service because they are homebound due to ill health, living without shelter, isolating due to a positive covid-19 diagnosis, or do not have transportation. Hundreds of volunteers help us deliver groceries, prepare healthy meals, work in our food bank, tend to our organic garden, and more!
Visit www.fftfoodbank.org for more info or drop me a line about opportunities to get involved or donate.
COTS Raffle
COTS – The Committee On The Shelterless is one of the primary providers of homeless support services and housing around Sonoma County. They run the Mary Isaak Center in Petaluma, where they provide shelter, meals, medical services, job services, and more for the members of our community who are most in need.
The COTS Raffle was started in 2018 as a way to help support this incredible organization. To date the raffle has raised over $100,000 in support of COTS. Restaurants around Petaluma generously donate gift cards, and raffle tickets are sold at $20 each, with 100% of the proceeds going direct to COTS. It is a true community win-win!
Visit www.cots.org for more information about COTS, and stay tuned for more info about this year’s raffle!
Coats for COTS
Coats for COTS is a winter coat drive that I started doing back in 2017. Each year in early December I hold a collection date, and folks from all over Petaluma and the surrounding community come out with coats, blankets, and other supplies for COTS’s clients. The folks over at COTS are so appreciative of our efforts. I love it when the community comes together to support one another!
Sonoma Strong Sriracha
HOT – SWEET - DELICIOUSNESS! That’s the only way to describe this locally made, not-for-profit sriracha. The makers of Sonoma Strong Sriracha started bottling it back in 2018 to support the victims of the 2017 firestorm, and it has only grown since then. 100% of the proceeds are now donated to the Redwood Empire Foodbank, another truly worthy Sonoma County cause. Due to a pepper shortage, bottling has been delayed a bit, but the next batch is scheduled to be brewed in Oct 2023.
Follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sonomastrongsriracha to stay up to date and get first dibs when the next batch is released.
